Independent Consultants & Engineers, Inc. (IC&E) regional
service area includes the mid-Atlantic states of MD, DC, VA, NJ, DE, PA and WV. Below
is just a sampling of previous projects IC&E has completed. We will gladly supply you
with a more comprehensive list upon your request.
One 10 MG Water Reservoir
Wheaton, MD
Construction Phase Services
Work consisted of developing concrete mixtures with low cement contents that would achieve
strength and have minimal shrinkage. Field work included batch plant inspections, trial
field mixing, regular sampling and testing of aggregates and quality control tests on
plastic concrete. In addition, shotcrete nozzlemen were certified and shotcrete panels
fabricated for core compressive strengths, absorption and chloride ion testing.
Croom Vocational High School Upper
Marlboro, MD
Geotechnical Engineering Services
Work consisted of approximately 30 borings and 8 test pits for siting this regional
school, addressing stormwater infiltration, on-site sewage disposal and depths to
naturally occurring diatomaceous earth (MH). The underlying diatomaceous soils have
moisture contents ranging from 60 to 120%. The structure was raised 4 feet in elevation to
limit contact with these sensitive soils. Cuts and fills on the order of 12 are part
of a phased approach to construction.
Footer Dye Works Complex
Cumberland, MD
Structural and Weatherization Condition Survey Historical
Structure dates back to early 1900s. Work included an inventory database of
condition ratings for the structural elements and building envelope, prioritization for
immediate repairs and cost estimates for repairs/remediation.
Keywell Scrap Metal Recycling Yard
Baltimore, MD
Construction Phase Services
This project included subgrade preparation (geosynthetic & DGA), an extensive
stormwater collection system, a stormwater management pond, rail siding, asphaltic
concrete pavements and a 2000 cubic yard steel fiber reinforced exterior processing
concrete pavement. The concrete mixture has a 6000 psi design strength with the use of
Newcem (slag cement), mid-range water reducers, air-entrainment and Dramix steel fibers. |
